Tra la paura e l'isolamento globale imposti dalla pandemia Coronavirus, il 28 marzo 2020, quattordici (14) dei nostri novizi hanno dichiarato i loro Primi Voti Religiosi, Hanno professato nelle mani del Superiore della Vice Provincia Nostra Signora della Speranza (Africa), don Kelechi Maduforo. Erano presenti don Christopher Orji, don Jude, e don Emmanuel Johnson. L ' evento si è svolto presso la Casa del Noviziato a Nnebukwu nello stato Imo (Nigeria). I quattordici (14) novizi provengono da tre (3) diversi paesi in Africa: Nigeria, DR Congo e Togo. La loro prima professione religiosa si è svolta durante una messa solenne presieduta da don Kelechi Maduforo che durante la sua omelia i neo-professi ad essere fedeli ai voti di castità, povertà e obbedienza che hanno fatto a Dio e di essere fedeli allo spirito, al carisma e alla missione della Congregazione dei Servi della Carità. Con la Prima Professione dei voti, che è giunta alla fine dell'anno canonico di Noviziato, i nostri fratelli sono diventati membri della Congregazione.
La Messa Solenne è stata resa preziosa anche dalla presenza dei parenti dei nostri novizi, dal parroco della Santa Famiglia, don Jonathan Ezenwake e dal coro. C’erano gli abitanti del villaggio e i fedeli della parrocchia e vari sacerdoti e religiosi. Il numero di persone che hanno partecipato a questo evento Solenne è stato ridotto a causa dello scoppio di Covid-19 in Nigeria. Dopo la Santa Messa, abbiamo tagliato la torta della Prima professione in onore dei nostri confratelli che avevano appena professato. Non c'è stato alcun ricevimento poiché le direttive del governo nigeriano non permettevano di raccogliere un gran numero di persone. Cibo e bevande sono stati rapidamente distribuiti e tutti sono andati a casa.
Amidst global fear and lockdown imposed by Coronavirus pandemic, on the 28th of March, 2020, fourteen (14) of our Novices professed their first Religious vows, which was received by the Superior of the Vice Province of Our Lady of Hope, Africa – Very Rev. Fr Kelechi Maduforo; with Rev. Fr. Christopher Orji – the Parish priest of St. Jude Parish Egwe and Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Johnson – the superior of Our Ghana Community and a Provincial Secretary and Councilor – as witnesses. The event took place in the Novitiate House, Don Guanella Centre, Nnebukwu in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria. The fourteen (14) Novices come from three (3) different countries in Africa: Nigeria, DR Congo and Togo. Their First Religious Profession took place during a Solemn Mass presided by Very Rev. Fr. Kelechi Maduforo who during his homily enjoined the brothers – the newly professed to be faithful to the vows of chastity, poverty and obedience they have made to God and to be faithful to the spirit, charism and mission of the Congregation of the Servants of Charity. With the first profession of vows, which came at the end of the Canonical year of the Novitiate, our brothers have become members of the Congregation.
The Solemn Mass was graced with the presence of the family members of our Novices, the Parish priest of Holy Family Izombe, Very Rev. Fr. Jonathan Ezenwoke and the choir, Sir Paschal Uche, a newscaster at Orient FM Owerri, villagers and members of Immaculate Heart Parish Orsu Obodo and various Priests and Religious. The number of persons that attended this Solemn event was reduced and the names taken because of the outbreak of Covid-19 in Nigeria. After the Holy Mass, we cut the First Profession cake in honour of our newly professed members. There was no reception since part of the directives of the Nigerian government does not permit gathering of large number of persons. Food and drinks were quickly distributed and everybody went home.
