Vocation is the response to a call and to a call of love – Pope Francis
Fr. Jeyaseelan, SdC, Vocation Promoter of DPP, along with confreres Fr. Praveen, Fr. Stalin, Fr. Packiyaraj, Fr. Vimal Thambusamy, Fr. Periyanayagam, Fr. Paul Dhinagaran, Fr. Adaikalam, Fr. Antony Xaviour, Dn. Sachin Son, Dn. John Bosco, Bro. Philomin from DGMS and Bro. Joseph from Koppaka Minor Seminary organized the vocation camp to recruit the vocation to the Guanellian religious life.
DPP Vocation camp for the academic year 2022-2023 was organized in three different places such as Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Martalli, Karnataka on 29 May, 2022; Don Bosco ITI, K. Pudur, Madurai, Tamil Nadu from 4th June to 5th June 2022 and St. Joseph’s Minor Seminary, Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu from 7th June to 9th June, 2022. 46 students from various places attended the vocation camp for this academic year.
The vocation camp was filled with events that primarily introduced the spiritual experience to those young men who attended the vocation camp. Starting with the morning prayers, Eucharist, Rosary, personal prayer, meditations, and other animated prayer moments the camp was a living spiritual experience. The sharing of their own personal vocation story also added beauty to their spiritual experience.Fr. Jeyaseelan, the vocation promoter animated along with other coordinators classes for the students about Guanellian religious life, basic catechism, founder and the congregation.
The students remained active all through the vocation camp programme with the various events. Moments like living together, eating together, relaxation in beach, walk, talent show and other moments of games and competitions introduced them to experience the basic fraternal life and the Guanellian joy. The students exhibited their talents, skills and intelligence during the competitions and other activities.
The camp students of “Vocation camp – 2022” expressed that they experienced joy and love during the camp. It was vivid in their faces that radiated joy and happiness all the time. The vocation camp team with the help of the confreres succeeded in introducing the students an experience of Guanellian life and joy during the camp. The students experienced God’s guiding hand and our Lady’s protection all through the camp.
