Housing project for the flood victim in Chennai 2015-2016

The Year of Mercy is an invitation to love, kindness, and unbounded generosity. Pope Francis is offering us the opportunity to encounter the incredible mercy of God. Encountering mercy means encountering God. The Lord sends us (Guanellians) to those fragile and abandoned brothers who, like the paralytic in the gospel, come crying out “Lord, I have no one!”.
There was big disaster, due to heavy rain, in Chennai. Many poor people have lost their huts and their livelihood. We, the Guanellians, are inspired by the spirit of Founder St. Louis Guanella came out of the house to be with people and to wipe their tears. The Divine Providence Province has put up thirteen houses to the poor who were affected by the heavy flood and renovated don Guanella Special School which was also badly damaged due to rain Poonamallee in Chennai. The relief fund was generously contributed by the General and his council, collected from Sacred Heart Province and partially St. Joseph Roman Province, and some of our communities in Italy, ASCI and Tiziana from Italy. The Divine Providence along with the people deeply expresses sincere thanks from the bottom of our hearts. The details of the housing project as follows
