On November 8, 2016 the theological community of the Servants of Charity in the Philippines celebrated the 143rd birthday of Venerable Aurelio Bacciarini from whom the community has taken its name. The Eucharistic celebration presided by Rev. Fr. Silvio, SdC together with nine more Guanellian priests. The homily focused on how the venerated venerable lived the Guanellian testament. Like St. Louis Guanella and Bl. Chiara Bosatta, Ven. Bacciarini served as one of the foundations of the congregation. The Pope Pius XI once called him as “the Job of the Episcopate” whose life became miserable, but remained faithful to God in contemplation and in action. This important event may serve as an invitation to live our Guanellian identity rooted in the spirit of prayer and suffering.
The Ven. Aurelio Bacciarini Theologate is also very grateful of the presence of Fr. Gustavo De Bonis, the Secretary General of the Servants of Charity, and Fr. Rathinam together with his Councilors. It is also a great opportunity to invite each one of you to kindly continuously pray for the intercession of Ven. Bacciarini so that God may will the time of his beatification.
