La nuova presenza guanelliana nelle Isole Solomon ha ricevuto con entusiasmo la visita apostolica del Nunzio di Papua Nuova Guinea e delle Isole Solomon.
Il rappresentante del Papa, l’Arcivescovo Mathew Kurien Vayalunkal, si è rallegrato per l’attività apostolica che P. Matthias e P.Toni hanno realizzato in questi sette mesi della loro presenza. Il Nunzio ha benedetto la piccola Cappella dedicata a San Luigi Guanella, nella parrocchia di Canaan, che è il centro della missione guanelliana nella Diocesi di Gizo.
"The Nuncio was received by the people of Canaan on Feb 11th morning , after visiting and blessing the chapel of Saint Louis Guanella.The Nuncio went around and captured for himself both in his memory and in his cell phone the lovely oceanography houses of Canaan…There were the surprise welcome of the warrior dance, crowning the Nuncio with wreaths, speeches and gifting of mementoes.
He recalled his meeting with the Bishop Luciano of Gizo in Italy and of his first invitation to visit the SI and Gizo diocese. He remembered that our Bishop, Luciano Capelli is expected to be back soon, and we would love to meet him together with the one other confrere expected to be here.
