2015 June 1st we began our Guanellian mission at St. Paul’s boys home with the permission of Very Rev. Fr. Alfonso Crippa SdC , Superior General, Rev. Fr. Gustavo De Bonis, SdC, the link Councilor for India and Secretary General, Fr. A. Soosai Rathinam SdC was the Provincial Superior. Rev. Fr. S. Periyanayagasamy, Sdc was the first director. The people of this surrounding admired at our ministry and way of life above all our presence with the people. On 25th of November 2018, on the day of Christ the King Feast the Church of Vadapatti mission station namely St. John De Britto Church was given to Guanellian Fathers for the pastoral care by Most Rev Dr. Antony Pappusamy, D.D, STD with the kind Permission of Very Rev. Fr. Umberto Brugnoni SdC, our present General and Rev. Fr. J. Ronald is our Provincial Superior . Though the Christian families are very few but they have strong faith in St. John De Britto. We, the Fathers used to go for house visit, visiting sick and giving Holy Communion to the sick and accompany them in their spiritual journey daily. It’s great privilege for us to celebrate GOLDEN JUBILEE this year on 26th of January 2021. The Arch Bishop was very much appreciated the Parish Priests, faithful, community fathers and Guanellian Congregation for good animation and spiritual journey with faithful. On the day nearly 600 people participated in this Golden Jubilee surrounding parish people. Nearly 20 priests and 5 nuns participated on this occasion. In memory of Golden Jubilee celebration, we constructed 4 things namely 1. Arch, 2. Bell tower, 3. Flag pole and 4.Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto. Thanks to all the community fathers who rendered their helping hand in organizing this celebration in a grand manner. Especially we thank our superior General and his Council and Divine Providence Province, Provincial Superior and his Council for your valuable support and encouragement.
El 25 de enero, marcó una fecha importante para la Provincia Ntra. Sra. de Guadalupe. Por la mañana han hecho su entrada al noviciado tres jóvenes: Francisco de México, Carlos de Paraguay y Jean el primer novicio de Haití. Por la tarde realizaron su primera profesión religiosa Domingo Sávio de Brasil y Jonathan del Paraguay. ¡Agradecemos a la Providencia de Dios por el sí de estos jóvenes y rezamos por su camino vocacional!
Il programma tutorato per giovani sacerdoti in India si è svolto per tre giorni dal 20 gennaio al 22 gennaio 2021 presso la DGMS, Chennai. P. Joseph Jeyaraj Sdb, p. John Christy Sdb hanno animato il programma sotto i vari temi legati alle sfide della vita religiosa odierna e come rimanere fedeli alla chiamata ricevuta da Dio. La comunità della DGMS ha offerto una buona ospitalità a tutti i confratelli. È stato un momento fruttuoso per incontrarsi dopo questo blocco del Coronavirus e per trascorrere in fraternità insieme.
La formazione permanente si è svolta presso la DGMS Chennai il 23 gennaio 2021 per i Superiori e gli economi delle singole comunità sugli aggiornamenti sulle nuove normative dello Stato in merito alla FCRA. Il Sig. John Peter, l'Assistente Economo Provinciale dei Salesiani, il Sig. Arockiasamy, il revisore dei conti delle nostre tre Società e il Sig. Raja, l'Assistente del Project Desk della provincial Divina Providenza, hanno animato il programma. Erano presenti fisicamente gli economi delle singole comunità e residenze religiose mentre i Superiori hanno assistito virtualmente tramite webinar. L'incontro è stato organizzato da p. Francis Selvaraj, tesoriere delle società Indiane.

È stato vescovo di Lugano, Svizzera, un vescovo guanelliano (1876-1935) che ha vissuto una vita di amore e sacrificio per Dio e per il vicino, è stato anche successore di don Luigi Guanella per Servi della Carità
As per the custom and at the direction of Provincial superior Rev. Fr. Ronald, the rectors of St. Joseph’s seminary, Cuddalore and Guanella Bhavan, Koppakka decided to have 4 days of Minor seminarians meet on 14th to 17th of January 2021 at Cuddalore. The total participants were exactly half century i.e 50 persons. First day was a day of recollection and confession as spiritual preparation for the young ones and it was guided by Rev. Fr. Kalaiselvan Sdc, a missionary from Romania. And second day was a day of cultural programs and sports. It was a very colourful and cheerful day with varieties of dances, singings and skits from different cultures and innovations. The third day was a day of orientation on the theme of the gathering, “Fraternity, a laboratory of Reciprocity”. Resource person was young missionary from USA Rev. Fr. Amalraj Sdc. With his gifts of oratory and calibre he attracted the audience and taught them about the gifts, struggles and solutions in the life of communion. His questions were reflected, discussed in groups and reports were presented. The last day was dedicated for real mission experience as one group. They went to St. Mary’s aged home run by Cluny sisters and it is housing nearly 90 aged men and women. The seminarians entertained them with their dialogues, singing, dancing and storytelling. After almost a year seeing the seminarians visiting them they were all excited indeed. Guanellian Fathers and brothers celebrated Mass for them in aged home and prayed for them. In the afternoon they were taken to Cuddalore OT beach where they enjoyed as group playing together, swimming and taking photographs. Colour and vitality was given by the participation of 2 DSMP novices and 2 DSMP candidates together with their 3 formatos. May the young love this religious life and ministry and discern well to pursue their vocation we pray.
La formazione permanente dei confratelli di voti temporanei si è svolta online per due giorni il 16 e il 17 gennaio sul tema dell'Interculturalità come nuova espressione dell'identità guanelliana. Le persone che hanno animato il programma sono p. Prisco Cajes OFM, p. Samson Sdc, Bro. Franco Lain Sdc, p. Charles Antony Sdc. I confratelli provenienti da India, Vietnam e Filippine hanno partecipato molto attivamente. È stato un momento fruttuoso per ascoltarsi e interagire con culture diverse.
